Abuja - The Nigeria Labour Congress has threatened to petition the
National Human Rights Commission, if the Kogi government fails to own
up for the death of the former President of the Academic Staff Union of
Universities, Festus Iyayi, Premium Times reports.
Iyayi, a former ASUU President, died on his way to attend the National Executive Council meeting of the union at Bayero Univeristy, Kano State.
It was gathered that the convoy of the Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada ran into his car on Tuesday along Lokoja-Abuja road on his way to the ASUU-NEC meeting.
NLC President, Abdulwaheed Omar, said both the federal and Kogi state governments should be held responsible for the death of the former ASUU President for failing to fix the deplorable Lokoja-Abuja road.
